Sugardaddy
- By day: Martin Drever, 33, shop assistant at Groundwater’s, in Kirkwall.
- Style of Music: Pop/cheese
- Why Sugardaddy?: My DJ name came from Glenda Marwick; after going through a few choices we thought that it was well suited to the “sugar” set.
- Refuelling: My favourite food is Chinese, with Coke, or Coke with Morgans in it!
- On the box: Charmed I just think the whole witch thing is fantastic! I’d like to be a witch, or I could just be a DJ in P3!
- On the web: Probably eBay. Everybody loves a bargain!!
- Warming up: Have a shower, throw the aftershave about, get dressed, all while my favourite cheesy tunes are on full blast, much to the annoyance of the neighbours - only joking, the neighbours love it!! Seriously though, I don’t really have a warm up ritual.
- First record bought: London Town by Bucks Fizz says it all really. I do still have it, but it’s not in my set. Not a song you could really dance to!
- Crowd pleasers: A guaranteed track is The One and Only by Chesney Hawkes ‘cos the Sugardaddy is the one and only!
A track I was mortified to play was Agadoo, but it was a request so I played it, but they were named and shamed at the time it takes the blame away from me!
- Heroes: Dolly Parton she is just so talented, with her musical abilities and business mind, and the fact that she puts a lot of her money back into her community and she “appears” to be fairly well grounded. Also my set would never survive without 9 to 5!!
- And another thing: Without giving too much away, I was unable to find a song on a Krusher vs Sugardaddy night. Ask Krusher he knows!
