Dani
- By day: Daniel Reid, 19.
- Style of Music: Hip Hop, R‘n’B, dance, dance hall, retro let’s just say it has flava!
- Why Dani? My DJ name is just a short version of my real name but the way it’s spelt comes from when I went to Ibiza. I had a top made for the holiday which said DANI on the back. It’s not the girl’s way of spelling it, it’s the Spanish way. Trust me!
- Refuelling: Lasagne, home-made soup, pasta dishes washed down with Irn Bru, Corona, Becks or water.
- On the box: It has to be Married with Children. Al Bundy is a legend, so funny. Plus Kelly Bundy (Christina Applegate) is hot, even for an 80s chick.
- On the web: www.heartsfc.co.uk, www.hotornot.com, www.bebo.com.
I go to them all about the same. No rude ones I’m a good boy!
- Warming up: Well, first I’ll go for a shower, maybe sing a wee number in there like I’m Too Sexy. Then, I’ll put some jocks on, they’re better than Y-fronts, and the rest. Do some practice in the DJ room in the house, have a few beers to settle the nerves and I’m ready.
- First record bought: The first record I bought I think was Boney M. I bought it for my dad on his birthday but as the years went by I managed to steal it and it’s worth the steal. I use it now, got to be track three, Rasputin. It’s so much fun on the dance floor!
- Crowd pleasers: The track that is guaranteed to be played is Carl Carlton - she’s a bad Mamma Jamma! I would be mortified to play Dolly Parton and 9 to 5. It’s rubbish, I’m afraid to say!
- Heroes: Jean Claude van Damme purely for the dancing in his first movie, Kickboxer. I suggest you see it it’s the funniest thing that I’ve ever seen. But being honest, it would be my dad, after all he made me and helped bring me up into the fine person that I am today.
- And another thing: I’ve not actually been in the big red box yet, I do my playing in the little white box, and you do see some of the funniest dancing around, it’s so good. I tend to go down and help them out with some of the harder moves, it must be the urban in me!
